Keys for Success
YOUR STUDENT IS COMMITTED!
Beyond the Classroom is a commitment, just like any extra-curricular activity. Students must be willing to dedicate 1-2 hours per week on executive function content and coaching, as well as daily practice to implement the tools and techniques learned in the program. The program takes work, it is not a quick fix!
YOU ARE COMMITTED!
Although this program is designed to be self-directed by the student, they will need your guidance and encouragement. You will need to help your student stay on top of their learning and support them as they implement new habits and practices. You may even need to work on changing some habits of your own to model “good EF” behavior! We will support both you and your student on this journey together.
YOU ARE BOTH WILLING TO CHANGE!
Change is hard and it requires openness and dedication. You and your student need to be willing to get uncomfortable, try new things, trust the process, and learn new skills. It won’t always be easy, but your child’s newfound confidence and independence will be well worth the effort!
“EXECUTIVE SKILLS [ARE] THE FOUNDATION THAT ALL CHILDREN NEED TO NEGOTIATE THE DEMANDS OF CHILDHOOD, AND THESE BRAIN-BASED SKILLS…ARE ESSENTIAL TO THE SUCCESSFUL MANAGEMENT OF ADULT LIFE.”
